Ebook Central is a collection specifically curated by the NYSID Librarians, focusing heavily on architecture and design. This is also where the library houses the digital versions of required textbooks that it purchases.
To access the collection, sign in using your NYSID email and password.
Similar to our physical books, e-books within Ebook Central can only be used by one student at a time. When you've found your book, the box outlined below will let you know if it is available. If the box is purple, it is available; if the box is greyed out, this means someone else is currently using the book. If the book is in use, we recommend waiting an hour and trying again. When you are accessing a book, please download the section(s) you need and exit the book in case other students are waiting for the book to be available.
Once you open the book, you will be able to:
Print using the Print to PDF button. Note that due to copyright, you are given a daily maximum number of pages that you can print. This maximum is per book (you can use the maximum in this book and will still be able to print from other books), and will eventually reset, allowing you to print more pages.
Search Within the book using the search bar to the left of the book. This will ensure that you find all of the sections with your keyword.
and Cite with the citation button. Remember that all quotes and paraphrased ideas MUST be properly cited.
