E-books at NYSID: A&A ePortal (Yale)

Introduction to A&A ePortal

Supported by Yale University, the A&A ePortal is an e-book resource that features important works of scholarship in the history of art, architecture, decorative arts, photography, and design, with over 300 texts available digitally.

Come explore and be inspired by the new resource here!

Accessing the ePortal

You can instantly access the ePortal directly from any computer on the NYSID network by visiting https://library.nysid.edu/library, navigating to the “E-books” tab, and selecting “A&A ePortal (Yale)”. If you’re logging in remotely, you will also be prompted to provide your NYSID email and password.

Using the A&A ePortal

The A&A ePortal supports multiple search features. You have the option to perform a full-text search of any keywords to locate associated chapters, or you can explore images in e-books by conducting an image search. While viewing your search results, you can also browse images associated with keywords by clicking on the “Images” tab above the search bar and filtering the results with the tags on the left-hand side of the screen. The “Subject Areas” tab at the top of the page allows you to search by field of study, sub-discipline, and geographic region.

If you would like to cite or remember an e-book, you can easily save it to a personal Bookshelf workspace (by creating a designated account) or share links to whole books and individual chapters. You can also save chapters to PDFs so they can be printed or read offline. The link here gives in-depth instructions on how to use all of these features.
