Access our subscription to BuildingGreen here or by going to the NYSID Library homepage under Other Resources.
Because Building Green is a subscription database, NYSID users who are physically off campus will first be asked to authenticate using their NYSID log in credentials (the same credentials used to log in to the NYSID Portal) before being taken to the BuildingGreen site.
Once on the site, you'll notice that premium access is being provided by NYSID and a "Create Profile" option. Profiles must be created using a nysid.edu email and will allow you to get the most out of BuildingGreen's exciting features.
Note: Once your personal profile is created, you no longer need to access BuildingGreen via the Library homepage but can log in directly on the BuildingGreen website.
Knowledge Base
Building Green's Knowledge Base provides a robust archive of articles, webcasts, reports, blog posts, and infographics organized by topic: Sustainable Materials, Design Strategies, Building Science, Buildings & Project Types, Design Process, Codes & Certifications
Product Guidance
BuildingGreen’s independent team of editors offer guides to more than 100 product categories, to help you learn what to look for when selecting green products that avoid negative health impacts.
News
Building Green's "Spotlight Report " features new articles every other month. Current Spotlight Reports, as well as issues of BuildingGreen's previous journal titles (The BuildingGreen Report, and Environmental Building News) dating back to 2004 are available for download here.
Continuing Education (take quizzes for CEU credits or just practice!)
Creating a BuildingGreen profile with your nysid.edu email also gives you access to earning CEU credits. Check out BuildingGreen's Knowledge Base and look for BuildingGreen articles, webcasts, and reports approved for continuing education credits through AIA, GBCI, and ILFI. As a student, CEU quizzes can also be a great way of informally testing your mastery of a given knowledge base.
Creating a user profile with your nysid.edu email gives you access to Building Green's partner site Designer Pages, a designer-friendly comprehensive product research platform that incorporates BuildingGreen filters and data.
Our BuildingGreen Rep is available to provide in-class virtual demos tailored to your course needs, customized virtual demos for faculty training, as well as to answer any questions you may have about how to maximize your use of BuildingGreen as a teaching resource.
