You can instantly access the ePortal directly via hyperlinked text in this guide, or by visiting the NYSID Library homepage clicking the “E-books” button, and selecting “A&A ePortal (Yale)”. If logging in when off campus, you may be prompted to provide your NYSID email and password as login credentials.
The A&A ePortal supports multiple search features. You have the option to perform a full-text search of any keywords to locate associated chapters, or you can explore images in e-books by conducting an image search. While viewing your search results, you can also browse images associated with keywords by clicking on the “Images” tab above the search bar and filtering the results with the tags on the left-hand side of the screen. The “Subject Areas” tab at the top of the page allows you to search by field of study, sub-discipline, and geographic region. The image below highlights these different ways to search and filter results in the ePortal:
If you would like to cite or remember an e-book, you can easily save it to a personal Bookshelf workspace (see image below), or share links to whole books and individual chapters. You can also save chapters to PDFs so they can be printed or read offline. You will first need to create a personal account using your NYSID email address to be able to utilize these features; the link here gives in-depth instructions on how to use the ePortal most effectively.
