318 Hispanic Design from Spain to the Americas

This guide is to supplement material presented in NYSID's Non-Western Art Seminar, "Hispanic Design from Spain to the Americas," which provides an historical overview of the influences of Spanish architecture, art, and design. This course introduces some of the significant traditions of art, architecture, and design in the non-Western world and their influence on Spanish architecture and design. Topics covered include the historical background of Spanish culture, major building forms and materials, furnishings and interiors, and distinctive forms of ornament.
