The NYSID Library offers the following support services for faculty:
Instructors may place selected materials on Reserve in the Library for their classes in keeping with NYSID’s Course Reserves policies and procedures.
NYSID is required by law to publish a comprehensive textbook list for all courses offered by the College, and make it available to the public and any potential students. The list is maintained by the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), and can be accessed via the NYSID Library Homepage (under the “Books” search tab) or via the NYSID Portal under the “Resources” tab.
The NYSID Library Instruction Program promotes the development of information literacy skills through collaboration with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum of NYSID. The program provides both general and customized course-specific library instruction sessions for students and classes. Moreover, students and faculty are encouraged to set up individual appointments with librarians to discuss their research topics/strategies and to review library resources pertaining to their research/teaching areas. Our goal is to ensure that students are equipped with necessary research and information literacy skills upon graduation to become lifelong learners.
Did you know? The NYSID Library staff creates various online Research Guides, also known as “LibGuides,” to support the curriculum at NYSID. These can be either course-specific, highlighting resources and research processes pertaining to course syllabi and course assignments, or general and topical, such as MLA citation format and thesis preparation.
