About the Library

The Library at the New York School of Interior Design is one of the only educational collections devoted to the practice and profession of Interior Design in the United States. A full-time librarian has been on staff at NYSID since 1964, and the library sits in its third space during that time. Both library services and collections have grown significantly over the years. Currently, the collection holds 15,000 volumes that include books on architecture, design, decorative arts, décor, art history, construction codes and standards and sustainable design.

Staff at the NYSID Library includes three full-time librarians and approximately 15 undergraduate and graduate student assistants. During the fall and spring semesters, the library is open seven days a week. For more information about the library, to schedule a research appointment, request a book to be ordered or any other requests, please feel free to email us at: libraryinfo AT nysid.edu, or call us at 212-472-1500 ext. 214.
